Your Guide to the Top Career Podcasts of 2024
Share
As the job market evolves, so do the resources we need to thrive within it. Podcasts have become an indispensable tool for career development, offering insights, advice, and inspiration from industry experts and fellow professionals. Whether you’re looking to transition into a new field, climb the corporate ladder, or simply stay updated on the latest industry trends, there’s a career
podcast out there to guide you.
After launching Find Your Dream Job in 2015, I decided we all needed a better way to find great career podcasts. In 2017, I created my inaugural Top Career Podcasts Guide, a curated list of the best shows dedicated to career growth and job searching. Now, we’re back with our seventh annual guide, spotlighting the best podcasts to help you advance in your career.
Here are a few themes in this year’s guide:
• AI and Automation: With AI and automation transforming industries, career podcasts are increasingly covering how to leverage these technologies for career advancement. This
includes discussions on AI tools for job searching, upskilling in AI-related fields, and the impact of automation on various professions.
• Mental Health and Well-being: The importance of mental health in the workplace is a significant theme. Podcasts are addressing issues like burnout, stress management, mindfulness at work,
and creating healthy work environments. This trend reflects a growing recognition of mental health as critical to career success.
• Gen Z in the Workforce: As Gen Z enters the workforce, podcasts are discussing their unique perspectives and expectations. This includes insights on attracting and retaining Gen Z talent, understanding this generation’s career aspirations, and adapting workplace cultures to be more inclusive for younger employees.
Representation and racial equity continue to be crucial in the workplace. I’m pleased to share that 66 percent of this year’s featured podcast hosts are women, and 40 percent are BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or People of Color).
While we’re always sad to see some of our longtime career podcast friends have moved on from hosting their shows, we’re grateful for the work they have shared over the years, and we’re excited to discover new shows. Twenty-five percent of this year’s shows are being featured for the first time.
I hope this guide will introduce you to some fantastic new podcasts to help you take the next steps in your career. You can follow the hashtag #CareerPodcast to see new shows and episodes as they
come out in the coming months.
